Biological Parents

There is a lot of shame and stigma that comes along with being a birth mom to a child with an FASD. We hope you take the time to hear from our birth moms about the struggles on the road to recovery and forgiveness.

Recovering Mothers Anonymous
Recovering Mothers Anonymous (RMA) is a fellowship of women, who are mothers, who share their experience, strength and hope with each other that they may find self-forgiveness and help other mothers to recover from having the lived experience of using alcohol or other harmful substance while pregnant. Join their weekly virtual groups.

Listen to Kathy Mitchell tell her story, In 2004, she founded the international birth mother mentorship program, the Circle of Hope (COH) and in 2020 founded Recovering Mothers Anonymous (RMA). She continues to speak at conferences and provides training and support to members of the COH speakers bureau that partners with the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) to provide grand rounds to medical facilities across the U.S.

If you, or someone you know is pregnant and needs help to stop drinking alcohol, contact IHR – Institute for Health and Recovery
